Discover Our History and the People Behind Our Firm

The precursor to our firm began in the home of Charlie and Annette Burke in 1969.

In 1970, Charlie and Annette hired their first part-time accountant and, by 1971, had grown the business sufficiently to purchase the building at 481 Main St. Stoneham, MA, which remains our office to this day.

In 2007, Mark Nihan and Katherine Durfee, two long-term associates at the firm, became partners and the firm officially became Burke & Company LLC.
